Q For The Kids

June 7, 2008, our 2nd annual Q For The Kids, a KCBS sanctioned, State Championship competition. We are in Fairbanks, In approximately 20 miles south of Terre Haute. Shigs-in-Pit took Grand Champion and Ulcer Acres took Reserve Grand with Old Dave from Ribs & Bibs coming in 3rd. For a 1st event we had 26 teams from 6 states. 2008 is expected to be as big or bigger so visit our website and come and have some fun with us in June.

We attended the Q For The Kids BBQ competition in 2007. This was the promoters first attempt at putting on a BBQ competition. The promoters did an excellent job on a limited budget. BBQ'ers like Old Dave did their part also to help promote a new competition in Indiana. On Friday evening Old Dave helped to put together a great pitch in and the promoters even had a band play on Saturday and it was set up so the cookers could listen and watch in between turning in their samples. We have seen the Q for the Kids promoters, Brian & Patty at a lot of the competitions we have attended and they are working hard to make sure the 2008 contest is truly bigger and better. Good Times.

This was the first event that I was able to judge, and it was fantastic. Very well organized. It was a great weekend.
